We are pleased to inform you that we have now finally fixed the place and the date (October 20th. and 21st. in the World Trade Cent er in downtown Barcelona) and have got the financing just to start with the booking of the Centre. So, we took the decision, together with ASPO INT’l to go ahead with the event, with this initial financial coverage.

The traditional topics, such as oil and gas (and coal), will be discussed by various speakers. Apart from that also energy security and other proposed subjects, such as renewables in general and biofuels in particular, together with local and regional solutions, will be presented. The present events taking place in the energy markets and the subject of peak oil and gas going clearly mainstream in the last months, together with serious problems in many countries of the world, related to the increasing costs of the fuels and their impact in the life of the societies, will make this event an indispensable gathering to understand the real underlying reasons of the present energy crisis and the possible alternatives.

For more details, please see the official web page of ASPO at http://www.peakoil.net/headline-news/aspo-conference-in-barcelona and the enclosed dossier.

A specific webpage from ASPO Spain (http://www.aspo-spain.org/) will soon be opened to enable ASPO members and attendants to send their proposals and to make subscriptions. We will also provide soon information on suggested hotels close to the WTC for the ASPO members dry run and wrap up meetings, before and after the ASPO two days conferences, respectively. As soon as they are released, we suggest to make reservations as soon as possible, be them in the proposed hotels or in any others, as Barcelona is currently a city with a lot of cultural, commercial and industrial life.

We would very much welcome any suggestions or ideas from you on ASPO 7 and over all, any possible way of covering the remaining financing we will need to have the remaining means to make this a complete success. We also invite you to post the event in your respective web pages.

So, we are kindly inviting you to participate and if possible, to confirm your interest to attend, (up to June 30th. without transfer commitments and possibility of cancelling up to this date without any cost and discounts prepared for “early birds”!), as the audience of the ASPO 7 International conference in the World Trade Center of Barcelona is for 430 people. Over 300 people attended in Cork, and this year, due to present world situation, we believe much more people will attend.  With the opening of the webpage, ASPO Spain will provide data for the subscription transfers (account number and details)

We are in close contact and coordination between ASPO INT’l (Mikael Höök and Kjell Aleklett) and ASPO Spain.

Please feel free to give us your comments and suggestions.

Looking forward to seeing you in Barcelona.

Best regards.
